Training/Lessons

Jane teaches all levels of riders.  No matter what level you are at, Jane will work with you on your personal goals.  Whether your goal is to improve your relationship with your horse or to develop better balance and elasticity or you are interested in competing, Jane will work with you on an individualized training plan.  Jane will assist you to solidify seat, leg and balance so you are in harmony with the horse.  Jane offers a variety of training packages to meet your needs, be it a once a week lesson or a full training package.

In teaching, emphasis is placed on the understanding between horse and rider, which comes from a secure and correct position. Patience, clear aids, being able to sort out problems and go back to a solid foundation are stressed continually. Jane will not tolerate gimmicks, draw reins, or any of the so called "training" aids. Building a correct and solid foundation on any horse will enable your training to progress more efficiently and will always be there for corrections.

Students realize that the horses usually come first, and many times have to look at themselves for creating the problems that they are trying to solve. Slow, patient work results in quicker steps forward.

Jane has, at times, horses for lease (either partial or full lease), and has two school horses for riders who do not have their own horses.

Jane has a ring at the Paddock Riding Club where she teaches lessons 7 days a week, usually on a one to one basis. Everyone is welcome to stop by and either speak with Jane or watch the lessons, training, or riding. Jane's has flexible hours, usually from 5:30AM to usually 9:00 PM. You can call her at (323) 661-0401. Auditors are welcome. See Jane’s contact page for more info, or e-mail Jane regarding your training needs.

Classical riding is the art of riding with, rather than against the horse, in harmony.
